REPORT: Bill Asked Hillary to Meet Top Russian Nuclear Officials in 2010

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.22.17

After receiving $500,000 for Moscow speaking event, President Bill Clinton sought permission from former Secretary of State Hillary to meet with senior Russian officials; just as the White House prepared to sign off on the controversial Uranium One deal, reports the Hill.

Newly released documents show the former President requesting clearance from his wife –then serving at the State Department- to meet with the board of directors of the Russian nuclear powerhouse Rosatom -the same firm that needed Barack Obama’s approval to finalize the controversial nuclear agreement.

“In the context of a possible trip to Russia at the end of June, [William Jefferson Clinton] is being asked to see the business/government folks below. Would State have concerns about WJC seeing any of these folks,” wrote a foreign policy advisor for the Clinton Foundation in May 2010.

A Clinton spokesperson pushed back on the report, saying, “Requests of this type were run by the State Department as a matter of course. This was yet another one of those instances. Ultimately, President Clinton did not meet with these people.”

The bombshell report raises even more questions over the role of Bill and Hillary Clinton regarding the controversial Uranium One deal, and the extent of Russian influence in the American nuclear industry.
