NFL CHAOS: Cowboys Owner SHREDS NFL Commissioner Over Protests

posted by Hannity Staff - 7.08.17

Outspoken owner of the Dallas Cowboys Jerry Jones didn’t mince words when commenting on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell’s handling of players’ choosing to “take a knee” during the national anthem, saying he plans to sue the league if they renew Goodell’s contract.

According to Fox News, Jones believes Goodell’s poor leadership led to nearly ten weeks of player protests during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner,’ and directly resulted in low television viewership and poor stadium attendance throughout the country.

Other team owners and NFL officials fired-back at Jones, threatening to oust the owner for his outlandish “antics” and defending Goodell’s handling of the nearly three month protest.

“But the saga has continued, and the NFL is accusing Jones of attempting to sabotage contract negotiations with Goodell,” says Fox, with officials outraged over Jones comments, saying his “antics, whatever their motivations, are damaging the league.”

“The letter, reportedly sent to all 32 NFL owners, also confirmed Jones had been booted as a non-voting member of the compensation committee due to his threats to sue,” the author adds.

The NFL has been struggling to regain its footing following months of players choosing to “take a knee” during the performance of the US national anthem.

The ensuing controversy gained national attention when President Trump called for a total boycott of the NFL until officials and owners require players to stand during the ‘Star-Spangled Banner.’
