White House senior advisor Kellyanne Conway unloaded on CNN’s Chris Cuomo Tuesday, blasting the anchor for questioning President Trump’s “moral standards” and saying the President doesn’t want a “liberal Democrat representing Alabama” in the US Congress.
“The only endorsement that matters in [Moore’s] race is President Trump’s. When he came out questioning the ideology and the vote of Doug Jones; he’ll be a reliable vote for tax hikes, he’ll be a reliable vote against border security, he’ll be a reliable vote against national security, he’ll be a reliable vote against the second amendment, against life,” said Conway.
“It seems like you have no standard of morality; that it’s all political pragmatism,” shot-back Cuomo.
“You’re going to say that to me, really?” asked Conway. “The President has tremendous moral standards. Did you just tell the world that Senator Franken took a stupid photo and exercised poor judgment, but you’re not troubled by that? Is that because he’s a reliable vote for higher taxes?”
“The President has said the following: The allegations are troubling, Roy Moore has denied them, the President has said that they’re 40 years old, nobody came forward before, Doug Jones is a liberal Democrat, and he doesn’t want a liberal Democrat representing Alabama in the US Senate,” said Conway.
