CALIFORNIA SCHEMIN’: LA Plans to Fight GLOBAL WARMING by Painting Streets White

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.10.18

The city of Los Angeles plans to fight climate change and global warming by painting streets and sidewalks white, hoping the “cooler” color will help offset the effects of urban “heat islands”.

According to Fox News, the LA Street Services agency unveiled the project last May, with initial tests showing the color-change could reduce temperatures by nearly 10 degrees. The technique uses a product called ‘CoolSeal’ to apply a thin, gray coat to roads and other surfaces.

“CoolSeal is applied like conventional sealcoats to asphalt surfaces to protect and maintain the quality and longevity of the surface,” writes the company’s website. “While most cool pavements on the market are polymer based, CoolSeal is a water-based, asphalt emulsion.”

“Heat islands occur on the surface and in the atmosphere,” according to the EPA. “On a hot, sunny summer day, the sun can heat dry, exposed urban surfaces, such as roofs and pavement, to temperatures 50–90°F hotter than the air.”

The climate fight comes with a steep price tag, with the product and labor costs expected to reach upwards of $40,000 per mile.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: LA Considers GIVING FREE HOUSES to City’s Homeless Population

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.23.18

The full-fledged chaos engulfing the state of California continued this week, with the Los Angeles City Council considering a motion that would provide free housing to the city’s estimated 60,000 person homeless population.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the motion was introduced last month and will be brought before the council Friday; declaring the city’s ballooning transient problem a public health emergency. The declaration would release additional funds to construct new homes and shelters for those on the city streets.

“The city has explored multiple options for dealing with its growing homeless population,” writes CBS. “In February, the council unanimously approved putting about 60 homeless people in trailers on a downtown lot.”

The portable shelters contain bathrooms, kitchens, at least one bedroom, and are expected to cost approximately $2 million.

The vote comes as nearby countries and cities reject the state’s “unconstitutional” ‘Sanctuary’ policies, with one town officially voting down the measure as homelessness and crime rates soar throughout the region.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Local Community FIGHTS BACK Against ‘Sanctuary’ TENT CITY

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.26.18

Local residents in southern California are fighting back against a two-mile long stretch of makeshift homeless shelters in Orange County; demanding officials crackdown on “human waste” and “used needles” that riddle the encampment, reports Fox News.

In stark contrast from local governments in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Orange County authorities are beginning to clamp down on the tent city, describing the “illegal” housing as a major public health concern.

“It’s becoming part of the permanent landscape in those communities and there is no way we are going to allow Orange County land that is supposed to be used by residents to be occupied by the homeless,” said a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

In response to public pressure, the county council cleared nearly 25 tons of trash, over 1,000 pounds of “human waste” and over 5,000 needles from the camp.

The ACLU and other human rights activists have denounced the move, filing a civil rights lawsuit to stop the county’s crackdown after the decision was officially approved by the council.

‘That isn’t going to happen in our county. It’s not going to be our skid row,” added the Orange County supervisor.
