The hyper-liberal Mayor of Oakland, California came under fire from national law enforcement Wednesday over her decision to “tip off” illegal immigrants of impending ICE sweeps; with US officials confirming her actions kept over 800 undocumented workers on the streets.
Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Thomas Homan slammed Mayor Libby Schaaf on Fox News this week, saying her decision to warn illegal immigrants of a federal crackdown directly endangered her community.
“She gave them warning, and there’s 800 that we were unable to locate because of that warning, so that community is a lot less safe than it would have been,” said Homan.

Mayor Libby Schaaf made national headlines over the weekend when she warned Bay Area residents of impending ICE raids, telling illegal immigrants to be on the lookout for federal agents within their communities.
“I’ll say this to the mayor and every other politician that wants to vilify the men and women of ICE: We’re not going away. We’re going to keep enforcing the law,” Homan added.
