DAY OF RECKONING: Rosenstein to Appear Before House GOP Over ‘Wire’ Report

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.28.18

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is set to meet with House GOP members in a “week or two” to discuss an explosive report that claims he was willing to “secretly record” President Trump to remove him from office.

House Freedom Caucus leader Mark Meadows confirmed the closed-door discussion on social media; adding he was prepared to “subpoena Rosenstein” should he fail to show up.

“Leadership has agreed to call Rod Rosenstein before Congress, for a closed door hearing with our panel investigating, so he can explain his alleged comments on ‘wiring’ POTUS—as well as other inconsistent statements,” Meadows tweeted. “If Mr. Rosenstein fails to show up, we will subpoena him.”

The scheduled meeting comes just hours after President Trump canceled Thursday’s planned discussion with Rosenstein; pulling-the-plug on the conversation as to “not interfere” with Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing.

GREGG JARRETT: Rosenstein’s ‘COUP ATTEMPT’ Cannot Go Unpunished

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.22.18

The New York Times stunned Americans on both sides of the political aisle Friday afternoon, publishing a bombshell exposé that claims Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein suggested “secretly recording” President Trump and using the material to remove him from office.

Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett slammed the revelations in a scathing report just hours after the Times published the article, saying the DOJ official’s “attempted coup” cannot go unpunished.

“Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein’s actions, as recounted by the New York Times Friday, are the equivalent of an attempted coup — a plot to overthrow the president,” writes Jarrett.

“He solicited others to wear wires, including Andrew McCabe, who was later fired as Assistant FBI Director. Rosenstein is said to have discussed recruiting cabinet members to depose Trump under the 25th Amendment,” he adds.

“Those who abused their positions of power to subvert the rule of law and undermine the democratic process should be held accountable,” Jarrett warns. “It should begin with the firing of Rod Rosenstein. It should end with a presentment to a grand jury for potential criminal indictments.”

NY TIMES: Rosenstein Proposed ‘Secretly Recording Trump,’ Invoking 25th Amendment

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.21.18

A bombshell report from the New York Times Friday claims Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein proposed secretly recording President Trump inside the White House, then potentially using the material to invoke the 25th amendment to remove him from office.

“The deputy attorney general, Rod J. Rosenstein, suggested last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and he discussed recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit,” writes the Times.

“Mr. Rosenstein made these suggestions in the spring of 2017 when Mr. Trump’s firing of James B. Comey as F.B.I. director plunged the White House into turmoil,” adds the article.

Rosenstein was in his official role for just two weeks at the time.

“The New York Times’s story is inaccurate and factually incorrect,” Rosenstein said in response to the NY Times article. “I will not further comment on a story based on anonymous sources who are obviously biased against the department and are advancing their own personal agenda.”

If confirmed, the report raises serious questions over Rosenstein’s future at the Department of Justice and his role in the ongoing Russia investigation.
