DOJ DISASTER: GOP Rep. Says SESSIONS, ROSENSTEIN ‘In Contempt’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.11.18

Rep. Mark Meadows believes Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein “should be held in contempt” over their efforts to stonewall the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia probe.

The GOP legislator was speaking with reporters Wednesday when he was asked to weigh-in on the President’s rocky relationship with Rosenstein, adding, “It’s members of Congress who have a bigger problem with Rod Rosenstein.”

“He is not giving us the documents, and he is not doing his job… If he is not going to do the job, he needs to go and find one that he will do, and so the frustration with the AG and the deputy AG is probably more of a focus of Congress, and it probably makes the president’s dissatisfaction pale in comparison,” said Meadows.

“They have not complied with the subpoena. They should be held in contempt if they can’t get it right,” he added.

ROSENSTEIN’S REFUSAL: Deputy AG Says ‘No Good Reason’ to FIRE Robert Mueller

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.13.17

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein pushed back against a growing chorus of GOP lawmakers calling for the removal of Robert Mueller after multiple reports of anti-Trump bias throughout his office, saying there was “no good reason” to replace the special counsel.

“And you see no good cause so far?”

Rosenstein was speaking with the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday where he faced tough questions regarding numerous scandals surrounding Mueller’s investigation of Russian election interference.

“Have you seen good cause to fire special counsel Mueller?” asked Democratic congressman Jerrold Nadler.

“No,” Rosenstein replied.

“If you were ordered today to fire Mr. Mueller, what would you do?” pressed Nadler.

“I would follow the regulation. If there were good cause I would act, if there were no good cause I would not,” said Rosenstein.

“And you see no good cause so far?” asked the New York Democrat.

“Correct,” added the Deputy Attorney General.

GOWDY GOES OFF: Rep. Gowdy RIPS Rod Rosenstein Over Mueller Witch Hunt

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.07.18

Chairman of the House Oversight Committee Rep. Trey Gowdy unloaded on Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein Tuesday night, blasting Rosenstein for his role in Robert Mueller’s never-ending witch hunt into the Trump campaign’s alleged ties with Russian officials during the 2016 election.

Gowdy was speaking with Fox News when he went off on the Deputy Attorney General, saying his probe into the Trump team has “wandered” from its intended goals and was now investigating any and all accusations against the President.

“Do I have fear that jurisdiction may wander a bit? I think it already has,” said Gowdy. “It has already wandered a little bit. But I would not blame Bob Mueller. I would blame whoever drafted the jurisdiction and the charter that empowered him. If you look at it, it says matters that may arise from the investigation. What the heck heck does that mean? Is that a bank robbery in Topeka, Kansas?”
