GOWDY TO COMEY: Your Definition of a 'LEAK' is Actually a 'FELONY’

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.27.18

Rep. Trey Gowdy didn’t hold back when discussing James Comey’s recent book tour this week; saying the former FBI boss’s definition of a “leak” is “what the rest of us call a felony.”

The outgoing congressman was speaking with Fox News when he was asked to comment on the disgraced bureau chief’s town hall event on CNN, where Comey tried to deflect allegations he “leaked” classified material to the media.

“I don’t quarrel with the FBI wanting to run down a lead. I’m probably biased towards law enforcement. Go ahead and run out the lead. The challenge then becomes, when you’re going to spy on an American citizen it has to be more than a lead,” said Gowdy.

“Another thing I learned tonight, is that Jim Comey has a definition of the word ‘leak’ that no one else has. What he says is a ‘leak’ is what the rest of us call a ‘felony.’ Leaking is disclosing a confidential conversation which is exactly what he did,” he added.

GRASSLEY UNCHAINED: The Senator Demands DOJ COMES CLEAN Over Comey Leaks

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.04.18

Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley is demanding answers from the Department of Justice over allegations former FBI boss James Comey violated federal law when he “leaked” classified material to a private citizen last year.

Grassley sent the scathing letter to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, urging Jeff Sessions’ second-in-command to come clean regarding Comey’s decision to leak his private conversations with President Trump to an associate.

“According to press reports, Professor Daniel Richman of Columbia Law School stated that Mr. Comey provided him four of the seven memoranda and encouraged him to ‘detail [Comey’s] memos to the press,’” writes Grassley.

“If it’s true that Professor Richman had four of the seven memos, then in light of the fact that four of the seven memos the Committee reviewed are classified, it would appear that at least one memo the former FBI director gave Professor Richman contained classified information,” he added.

Former FBI Director James Comey rose to national fame earlier this year after he was terminated by President Trump over his handling of Hillary’s email investigation.

In response, the Bureau chief leaked his private conversations with the President to an associate at Columbia University, prompting the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the Trump campaign’s “connections” with Russia throughout the 2016 election.

HANNITY: James Comey is in SERIOUS Legal Jeopardy over Classified Leaks

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.26.18

Speaking during his opening monologue on ‘Hannity’ Wednesday night, Sean blasted former FBI director James Comey; saying the former bureau boss may face “serious legal consequences” for leaking classified memos after leaving the agency.

“The memos that Jim Comey leaked to the media that ultimately became the catalyst, his desire for the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller; they were more widely shared than previously disclosed,” said Sean.

“Sources are revealing that Comey’s current lawyer and longtime friend was also given potentially classified information in these documents. Sources are also claiming that Comey may have leaked the memos to yet another unnamed individual,” he added.

“In June of last year, James Comey made no mention of this in his testimony before Congress,” said Hannity. “Remember, he was under oath. Was James Comey withholding information from Congress?”
