Rep. Trey Gowdy didn’t hold back while commenting on former FBI chief James Comey’s ‘watered-down’ investigation of Hillary Clinton this week, blasting the botched probe for “prejudging” Hillary’s fate ahead of the 2016 presidential election.
The GOP congressman unloaded on Comey’s investigation in a scathing statement released Tuesday, saying the ex-bureau boss acted as “FBI director, attorney general, special counsel, lead investigator and the general arbiter of what is good and right in the world.”
“These exact same FBI agents and attorney prejudged the outcome of the Russia investigation before it even began,” he added.
Gowdy’s comments come just days after the IG report blasted James Comey and other senior DOJ officials for acting “outside” FBI procedures while investigating Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified information during her tenure at the State Department.
