CNN anchor Jake Tapper seemingly slammed his own network’s coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in South Korea Sunday night; attacking the channel’s glowing praise of Kim Jong Un’s brutal regime after suggesting the despot’s sister should win the “gold medal” for diplomacy.
Tapper’s comments come as the cable news network found itself in hot-water over a recent article that praised Kim Jong Un’s sister for her stellar “diplomacy” at the international competition; mingling with world leaders and even South Korea’s president during the games.
“If ‘diplomatic dance’ were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un’s younger sister would be favored to win gold. With a smile, a handshake and a warm message in South Korea’s presidential guest book, Kim Yo Jong has struck a chord with the public just one day into the Pyeongchang Games,” writes CNN.
Tapper seemingly slammed his own network’s pro-North Korean puff piece, writing, “If you hate US leaders more than you hate the Kim Jong-un regime, you really need to read up on North Korea,” before posting links to various human rights violations committed by the communist dictatorship.
