IT BEGINS: Democrats Introduce Bill to REPEAL GOP Tax Cuts

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.23.18

A Colorado congressman became the first Democrat to introduce legislation to officially repeal the GOP-sponsored tax cuts this week, calling on the funds to be “redirected” towards student loan payments and education grants.

According to Business Insider, Rep. Jared Polis unveiled his ‘Students Over Special Interests’ Act Wednesday, introducing new legislation that would raise taxes to help fund the nation’s education system.

“The legislation, according to a summary viewed by Business Insider ahead of its introduction, would repeal the new tax law and redirect the taxpayer dollars toward erasing the $1.4 trillion in student-loan debt and investing in Pell grants. It will be the first piece of legislation aimed at unraveling the new tax law,” writes Business Insider.

“The Republican tax plan was all about special interests cashing in at the expense of everyone else. My plan shows what a difference we can make for middle-class Americans for even less cost,” said Polis.

“So many people go to school, get a job, and work hard but still struggle to get ahead because they are weighted down by student loans. It’s time to help them get out from the mountain of debt they are under,” he added.

CRUMBS ACT: House Republicans Unveil PELOSI INSPIRED Bonus Bill

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.14.18

House Republicans are poised to introduce the Nancy Pelosi-inspired ‘Crumbs Act’ this week; unveiling new legislation that would make bonuses and other one-time payouts to American workers tax free.

Congressman Todd Rokita announced the proposal, called Creating Relief and Useful Middle-Class Benefits and Savings -also known as the CRUMB Act- Tuesday, a clear reference to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s infamous swipe at millions of Americans who received an annual bonus following the passage of the GOP tax cut legislation.

“Americans are receiving thousands of dollars in bonuses and more money in their paychecks thanks to President Trump’s tax reform, but out-of-touch Democratic leaders believe they only amount to crumbs,” Rokita said in a statement.

“The CRUMBS Act will let Americans keep more of the money they receive as a result of President Trump’s tax reform, and allow them, not the government, to choose how best to spend their bonuses,” he added.

The former Speaker of the House repeatedly denounced the bonuses and higher wages as “pathetic crumbs” after President Trump signed the sweeping tax overhaul into law; slamming the major cuts as a “scram” for working families.

DEMOCRAT DELUSION: Schumer Calls Big Bonuses 'CRUMBS' for Working Families

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer doubled-down on Democratic talking points regarding the recently passed GOP tax cuts on Friday; echoing House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s non-stop insistence that increased wages and big bonuses were simply “pathetic crumbs” given to American workers.

Schumer was speaking on the Senate floor when he predictably attacked the GOP-led tax overhaul, saying middle-class Americans were “getting crumbs” while large companies and corporations were getting “nice fat pieces of pie.”

“When the American people learn that some of them are not getting anything, some of them are getting raises, and the rest are getting crumbs; and big corporations and wealthy individuals are getting nice, fat pieces of pie… they’re going to be outraged,” said Schumer. “They are already.”

The Minority Leader’s comments come as the nation’s largest corporations announce their plans to reinvest in the United States and pay out big bonuses and higher wages to American-based workers.

This week, Home Depot joined AT&T, Visa, Walmart, American Airlines, Disney, and other companies pledging to expand benefits and raise earnings after President Trump signed the sweeping overhaul of the nation’s outdated tax code into law.
