The hyper-liberal state of California got some more bad news this week, with the American Lung Association ranking eight of America’s top ten most polluted cities within its borders.
“Forget the Golden State. California should be called the Smoggy State,” writes USA Today. “Eight of the USA’s 10 most-polluted cities, in terms of ozone pollution, are in California.”
“Near record-setting heat from our changing climate has resulted in dangerous levels of ozone in many cities across the country, making ozone an urgent health threat for millions of Americans,” said Lung Association President and CEO Harold P. Wimmer.
The failing grade comes after the San Francisco Tourism Board begged local authorities to clamp down on rampant crime and rising homelessness; saying “there’s trash everywhere.”
“The streets are filthy. There’s trash everywhere. It’s disgusting,” said the head of San Francisco’s visitors’ bureau. “I’ve never seen any other city like this — the homelessness, dirty streets, drug use on the streets, smash-and-grabs.”
CALIFORNIA CHAOS: LA Considers GIVING FREE HOUSES to City’s Homeless Population
The full-fledged chaos engulfing the state of California continued this week, with the Los Angeles City Council considering a motion that would provide free housing to the city’s estimated 60,000 person homeless population.
According to CBS Los Angeles, the motion was introduced last month and will be brought before the council Friday; declaring the city’s ballooning transient problem a public health emergency. The declaration would release additional funds to construct new homes and shelters for those on the city streets.
“The city has explored multiple options for dealing with its growing homeless population,” writes CBS. “In February, the council unanimously approved putting about 60 homeless people in trailers on a downtown lot.”
The portable shelters contain bathrooms, kitchens, at least one bedroom, and are expected to cost approximately $2 million.
The vote comes as nearby countries and cities reject the state’s “unconstitutional” ‘Sanctuary’ policies, with one town officially voting down the measure as homelessness and crime rates soar throughout the region.
CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Oakland Coffee Shop REFUSES to Serve POLICE for ‘Customer Safety’
The escalating crisis in California between residents, local officials, and federal agents reached a pathetic new low in recent days; with one Bay Area coffee shop flat-out refusing to serve law enforcement to protect the “safety of our customers.”
According to NBC local news, the Hasta Muerte Coffee Company -a restaurant owned by its employees- refused to serve a police officer last February; declining to sell the law enforcement official a cup of coffee while on duty.
The officer left without incident.
The company posted a lengthy description of the event on social media days later, saying the restaurant has “a policy of asking police to leave for the physical and emotional safety of our customers and ourselves.”
“The facts are that [People of Color], women, and queer police are complicit in upholding the same law and order that routinely criminalizes and terrorizes black and brown and poor folks, especially youth, trans, and houseless folks,” adds the statement.
The hateful rhetoric comes as President Trump plans his visit to the state; slamming California officials for routinely violating federal law and shielding illegal immigrants under their ‘Sanctuary City’ policies.
