The crime wave sweeping the capital of the United Kingdom continued Thursday night, with a shocking six teenagers stabbed throughout the city in just 90 minutes; raising serious questions about security and safety in Britain’s largest metropolis.
According to the Independent UK, a 13-year old boy was the youngest victim of a stabbing spree that took place in at least four different attacks.
“Six teenagers have been stabbed within 90 minutes in another night of violence on London’s streets,” writes the Telegraph. “A 13-year-old boy was among the victims of four separate knife attacks, which took place as protesters gathered elsewhere in the capital to demand action to prevent young people dying.”
Earlier this week, a local politician in the capital called the spat of violence the “worst I’ve ever seen.”
The stabbings come just days after two teenagers were killed in similar attacks in the country’s largest city.
The shocking tally means the murder rate in London has risen by 40% in just three years; the stark opposite to New York City’s crime statistics which have fallen by nearly 90% since Mayor Rudolph Giuliani’s harsh crackdown in the 1990s.
