MAKING HISTORY: President Trump Meets North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.11.18

President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made history Monday, defying decades of simmering tensions and meeting face-to-face in Singapore with the hopes of denuclearizing the Korean peninsula.

The historic summit ends months of back-and-forth, heated negotiations surrounding the peace talks, with President Trump threatening to cancel the meeting after the communist regime harshly criticized several senior cabinet members, including Vice President Mike Pence.

The leaders are expected to have a one-on-one discussion for over an hour, which will then extend into a second hour and will include each nation’s delegation, such as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo -who has already met Kim Jong Un twice.

The stakes for the summit are unprecedented as President Trump attempts to convince Kim to completely abandon his nuclear missile program, with Kim likely seeking security guarantees and large-scale investments should he normalize relations with the United States.

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.11.18

The eyes of the world turned towards the city-state of Singapore Monday, as President Trump is poised to make history and meet face-to-face with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

According to Fox News, the stage is set for the Commander-in-Chief’s high-stakes summit with the communist leader; with talks possibly focusing on complete denuclearization, an end to the 68-year-long Korean war, the presence of American troops on the peninsula, and even the opening of a McDonald’s restaurant in Pyongyang.

The President commented on the negotiations just hours before the two leaders are set to meet, saying “Meetings between staffs and representatives are going well and quickly….but in the end, that doesn’t matter. We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!”

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo confirmed Monday night (local time) that the Trump administration would be willing to make “security assurances” to the Korean regime; saying the US would not attack should Kim abandon his nuclear weapons program.

Restaurants across Singapore unveiled a slew of special menu items Monday to commemorate the historic peace talks between President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, reports Fox News.

Fast food chains, such as KFC and others, joined local eating establishments in celebrating the potential peace summit, with some releasing Trump and Kim themed options along with special commemorative items.

The Beast Southern Kitchen -for example- is selling $23 hamburgers that combine American and Korean flavors.

“The American half of the burger includes fried mac and cheese burger ‘buns’ with a beef patty, bacon jam and barbecue sauce, while the Korean half has deep-fried kimchi rice buns, bulgogi beef patty, caramelized onions and creamy garlic sauce,” writes the restaurant.

“Some Korean people who came … love the kimchi a lot and others [are] saying that the portion is so huge. Why so big? I say because it’s the American version, it’s the American portion,” said another owner.
