Border and Customs agents in south Texas seized $13 million worth of methamphetamines concealed in a frozen strawberry delivery truck over the weekend; discovering the illicit drugs at an international bridge between the United States and Mexico.
“A 42-year-old Mexican man was stopped Saturday while driving a truck into the United States at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” reports the Dallas News.
“Officers inspected the shipment of frozen strawberries and found 906 pounds of methamphetamine worth an estimated $12,700,000,” adds the author.
The illegal delivery comes just days after President Trump declared a “national emergency” along the US-Mexico border; doubling-down on his efforts to secure funding for his long-promised border wall.
