Three illegal immigrants who managed to evade capture after Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf warned local residents of impending ICE raids were arrested for new crimes Tuesday; facing multiple charges for robbery and domestic violence.
According to Fox News, ICE officials confirmed this week the individuals had been apprehended after committing additional crimes; saying the undocumented workers managed to slip through the cracks during the federal sweeps of the San Francisco area last month.
Schaaf warned of the upcoming raids on social media hours before the authorities launched the surprise crackdown, allowing countless criminals to evade capture and deportation.
“How dare you!” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in California this month. “How dare you needlessly endanger the lives of our law enforcement officers to promote a radical, open borders agenda.”
Acting Director of ICE Tom Homan slammed Schaaf’s warning, saying the liberal mayor was acting like a “gang lookout” who warns drug dealers of approaching police officers.
“I do not regret sharing this information,” said the mayor last month. “It is Oakland’s legal right to be a sanctuary city and we have not broken any laws. We believe our community is safer when families stay together.”
