North Korean officials slammed the United States Wednesday, blasting America’s “stupid behavior” and warning the US of “endangering its own country” just hours after releasing three prisoners.
While dictator Kim Jong Un continued his all-out “charm offensive” with President Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, government officials released the scathing statement through the state-run news agency; accusing the US of “clinging” to hostilities.
“It is a stupid behavior just like a saying that curses, like chickens, come home to roost,” the KCNA statement read. “The U.S. is persistently clinging to the hostile policy toward [North Korea], misleading the public opinion. Such behavior may result in endangering the security of its own country.”
The statement then called on the US to “refrain from making words and acts that may destroy the hard-won atmosphere of dialogue.”
The mixed messages are widely regarded as a negotiating tactic for Kim’s communist regime as they prepare for their historic meeting with President Trump in the coming weeks.
