MOVING FORWARD: Trump’s CIA Pick Gets Key Senate Recommendation

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.16.18

President Trump’s pick to head the CIA received a key recommendation from the Senate Intelligence Committee Wednesday; clearing the path towards an up-or-down vote on the Senate floor as early as next week.

Potential CIA director Gina Haspel cleared the Committee in a 10-5 vote, sending her nomination to the rest of the Senate and setting the stage for the first woman to lead the Central Intelligence Agency.

“Gina Haspel is the most qualified person the president could choose to lead the CIA and the most prepared nominee in the 70-year history of the agency,” Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., said in a statement.

“She has acted morally, ethically and legally, over a distinguished 30-year career and is the right person to lead the agency into an uncertain and challenging future. I’m pleased to see the committee favorably report her nomination to the full Senate, and I look forward to her swift confirmation,” he added.

FIREWORKS: Trump’s CIA Nominee EDUCATES Democrats Over ‘Terrorism’

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.09.18

President Trump’s nominee to lead the CIA educated Congressional Democrats over the use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” during her confirmation hearing Wednesday, blasting liberal Senators for confusing “terrorists” with intelligence officers.

Gina Haspel was speaking with Democrat Sen. Jack Reed when she was asked to comment on the CIA’s prior use of “waterboarding” terror suspects under extreme circumstances; a practice now barred by the US Congress.

“Would you determine that to be immoral and something that should never be done, condoned in any way, shape, or form?” Reed asked. “Your response seems to be that civilized nations don’t do it, but uncivilized nations do it, or uncivilized groups do it. A civilized nation was doing it until it was outlawed by this Congress.”

“Senator, I would never obviously support inhumane treatment of any CIA officers,” Haspel said. “We’ve lost CIA officers over the years to terrorists. I just gave an example. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed personally killed a Wall Street Journal correspondent and filmed that. I don’t think there’s any comparison between CIA officers serving their country, adhering to U.S. law, and terrorists who, by their very definition, are not following anybody’s law.”

TERRORIST’S ADVICE: 9/11 Mastermind Comes Out AGAINST Trump’s CIA Nominee

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.09.18

The alleged mastermind behind the September 11th terror attacks came out against President Trump’s pick to head the CIA this week; providing a hand-written document he hopes to share with Congressional leaders.

Al Qaeda terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed -the group’s leader believed to be the organizer behind the suicide attacks- asked US officials at Guantanamo Bay to deliver his letter to the Senators as they vote to confirm Gina Haspel as the director of the CIA.

“Both Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and the Democrats question whether Haspel, a longtime CIA agent, is fit to run the agency given her involvement in the torture of prisoners following the attacks in 2001,” writes Fox News. “Haspel is due to appear Wednesday before the Senate Intelligence Committee for her confirmation hearing.”

The al-Qaeda leader, captured in March 2003, reportedly wrote “six specific paragraphs of information” regarding Haspel, but officials were “not able to describe the information” at this time.
