NO THANKS: More California CITIES Look to REJECT State’s ‘Sanctuary’ Laws

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.21.18

Just days after the Los Alamitos City Council became the first local government to reject California’s ‘Sanctuary City’ policies, other towns across the Golden State are gearing up for a legal fight to help the federal government crackdown on illegal immigration.

According to the Orange County Register, this week’s 4-1 vote in Orange County sent shockwaves throughout southern California; prompting neighboring cities and local governments to weigh similar measures to help protect citizens from rampant homelessness and rising crime.

“There’s a pretty good amount of cities interested and they want to know about the process,” Los Alamitos Mayor Troy Edgar told the Register.

“I thank the City of Los Alamitos for standing up for its citizens and rejecting the so-called ‘sanctuary’ legislation passed in Sacramento, and I urge the County of Orange and all of our cities to do the same,” added Orange County Supervisor Michelle Steel.

California’s “unconstitutional” Sanctuary Laws were thrust into the national headlines earlier this week, after three illegal immigrants who evaded ICE raids following a tip-off from the Mayor of Oakland were re-arrested after committing “additional crimes.”

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: GOP Rep. Proposes 'BORDER WALL' Between California and Arizona

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.21.18

A Republican congresswoman from Arizona proposed the construction of a “border wall” between her state and California; citing the ongoing chaos caused by the Golden State’s ‘sanctuary city’ policies and soaring crime rates.

Rep. Martha McSally made her surprising remarks while speaking at a round-table discussion at the White House Tuesday, saying Arizona residents need to protect themselves from California’s “dangerous policies.”

“As we look in Arizona, we often look into the dangers of the southern border,” said the congresswoman. “But if these dangerous policies continue out of California, we might need to build a wall between California and Arizona as well to keep these dangerous criminals out of our state.”

“[They can’t] provide sanctuary for these criminals and think that it’s only impacting California dangerously,” she added.

The state’s outrageous ‘sanctuary city’ policies were thrust into the national headlines again this week, when a small southern California town voted to officially reject the “unconstitutional” guidelines that prohibit law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration agents.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: One Small Town FIGHTS BACK Against ‘SANCTUARY’ Laws

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.19.18

The second-smallest city in Orange County, California is gearing up for a major legal battle against the state’s outrageous ‘Sanctuary City’ policies; with the local government voting Monday on whether they plan to opt out of the “California Values Act” that prohibits cooperation between local police and federal immigration agents

According to the Orange County Register, the city of Los Alamitos will hold a vote this week to withdraw from the state’s policies that buck federal guidelines regarding illegal immigration; saying the state law “may be in direct conflict with federal laws and the Constitution of the United States.”

“The proposed ordinance might be the first local attempt in California to officially challenge the law, said Kathleen Kim, a Loyola Marymount University law professor who specializes in immigrants’ rights and human trafficking,” writes the Register.

“Everyone holding elective office takes the same oath to uphold the laws to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. It doesn’t say unless the state legislature decides otherwise,” a community activist told the OCR. “I do believe somewhere in our history, we fought a war to prevent states from ignoring the law of the land and preserving the union.”

The city’s decision to fight back against the state’s ‘Sanctuary’ policies comes just days after President Trump toured the region; calling on officials to fund his border wall prototypes and cooperate with ICE agents in cracking down on illegal immigrants residing in the United States.
