NY SAYS NO: Cynthia Nixon Blames ‘EXTREMELY HIGH TURNOUT’ for Election Disaster

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.14.18

Progressive gubernatorial hopeful Cynthia Nixon was roundly defeated by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in Thursday’s Democratic primary, with key staffers blaming “extremely high turnout” for their election disaster.

Cuomo easily won the highly-contested race in dramatic fashion, beating Nixon by a margin of 65% to 35%.

“This is likely due to two factors: tens of millions of dollars in advertisements from Andrew Cuomo pushing voters to the polls, and a desire on the part of prime Democratic voters to send a message to [President Donald Trump] for the first time since his election,” said a memo from Nixon’s campaign staff.

CYNTHIA'S STRATEGY? Nixon Says ‘HIGHER TAXES’ Make NY More ‘BUSINESS FRIENDLY’

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.30.18

Democratic challenger for Governor of New York Cynthia Nixon dodged questions surrounding her massive tax scheme Thursday; claiming the state’s high taxes actually makes the region more “business friendly.”

Nixon was speaking with MSNBC when she was asked if New York’s wealthy residents and their businesses would leave should she implement her “millionaire’s tax.”

“If you were successful in imposing a millionaire’s tax or corporate tax, what makes you think those companies and those wealthy people would stay in New York?” asked MSNBC’s Rick Tyler.

“I think that wealthy individuals have the liberty of choosing where they want to live. If high taxes were a thing that would make wealthy people move, we wouldn’t have so many wealthy people in New York,” said Nixon.

“If we want to create jobs for New Yorkers, investing in infrastructure is the most effective way to do it, and it’s a way to prepare our state for the future and make it more business friendly,” she concluded.

CYNTHIA’S STRATEGY: Nixon Says Pass Universal Healthcare, ‘Figure Out’ Funding Later

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.07.18

NY Governor Candidate Cynthia Nixon unveiled her detailed strategy for providing a ‘Medicare for All’ system to all New Yorkers this week; saying legislators should pass a universal healthcare bill and “figure out” funding later.

Nixon was speaking with the Daily News Editorial Board Wednesday when she was pressed over a host of issues; including the state’s healthcare system and bloated budget.

“Nixon also pushed her plan for a state universal health care program that estimates suggest could cost initially anywhere from $96 billion to $200 billion. The state budget currently is $170 billion,” writes the Daily News. “Nixon said she does not have a plan to pay for it”

“Pass it and then figure out how to fund it,” she said.

Nixon’s comments come just days after her heated debate with sitting Governor Andrew Cuomo; where the two sparred-off over immigration, ICE, and New York’s escalating housing crisis.
