PARADISE LOST: Hawaiians Return to Destroyed Homes, Toxic Gas

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.08.18

Most of the 2,000 residents ordered to evacuate from Hawaii are now allowed to return to their homes following this weekend’s devastating volcanic eruption, with state officials warning they may be forced to flee at a “moment’s notice.”

According to Reuters, residents of the ‘Big Island’ are now permitted to return to the Leilani Estates neighborhood, where dozens of homes were destroyed by molten lava and debilitating ash storms.

The neighborhood sits just 12 miles from the volcano and was forcibly evacuated after officials detected lethal levels of sulfur dioxide gas.

“Please, the residents of Leilani need our help. This is not the time for sightseeing. You can help tremendously by staying out of the area,” said the Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency.

“It’s been a bit of a chaotic week, a very stressful situation. It’s one of those hopeless, helpless outlooks. It’s hard to explain but the lava is right behind my house and it’s pretty surreal,” one resident told Reuters.

No major injuries have been reported in the immediate fallout of the volcanic eruption and subsequent earthquakes, the worst eruption to strike Hawaii since 1975.

HELL IN HAWAII: Dozens of Homes DESTROYED as Residents Flee Volcano

posted by Hannity Staff - 5.07.18

Molten lava and debilitating ash continued to spew from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano Monday and showed “no signs of slowing down” as residents and tourists fled the island after dozens of homes were destroyed.

Thousands of Americans have attempted to leave Hawaii as toxic gas, steam, and lava cause chaos on the island; with County Civil Defense Administrators struggling to remain in control of the dangerous situation.

“[We] have established pretty good flows and just continue to cover more of the subdivision,” said a county administrator, adding “there’s no sign of slowing down…We had some pauses yesterday, but it seems like there’s a lot of magma under the ground.”

Almost 2000 residents have been evacuated from the region as US volcanologists warned the “eruption will continue.”

“There’s more magma in the system to be erupted. As long as that supply is there, the eruption will continue,” U.S. Geological Survey volcanologist Wendy Stovall said.

OFF TARGET: US Missile DEFENSE FAILS Over Hawaii

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.31.18

An important test of the nation’s anti-ballistic missile defense system totally failed in the skies over Hawaii early Wednesday, raising alarm bells throughout the Pentagon on the country’s ability to defend itself in the face of a pre-emptive North Korean nuclear strike.

According to Defense News, US military officials were alarmingly quiet following the test of America’s anti-ballistic missile system, refusing to confirm that the interception ultimately failed; the second such failure this year.

“The Missile Defense Agency and U.S. Navy sailors manning the Aegis Ashore Missile Defense Test Complex (AAMDTC) conducted a live-fire missile flight test using a Standard-Missile (SM)-3 Block IIA missile launched from the Pacific Missile Range Facility, Kauai, Hawaii, Wednesday morning,” said a spokesperson for the US Missile Defense Agency.

However, various news outlets reported that the tests ultimately came up short, allowing the “missile” to bypass the system and reach its intended target.

“Officials: US missile defense test failed in Hawaii early Weds. Pentagon not publicly acknowledging key ballistic missile defense test failure & officials tell @barbarastarrcnn there is a decision to not talk about it, in part because of sensitivities surrounding North Korea,” wrote CNN’s international correspondent on social media.
