PEACE IN KOREA: North and South Korea INSTALL HISTORIC Hotline Between Leaders

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.20.18

North and South Korea have opened a historic hotline directly linking the two leaders ahead of next week’s high-stakes summit; potentially clearing a path towards the official end of the 68-year long Korean War.

According to Fox News, the hotline is a direct link between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un; a major step towards de-escalating tensions in the region following North Korea’s multiple nuclear and missile tests.

“The historic direct telephone line between the leaders of the South and North was connected a short while ago,” confirmed South Korean officials.

“The test call went on for 4 minutes and 19 seconds starting at 3:41 p.m. with (officials from) both sides speaking to each other … The connection was smooth and the voice quality was very good. It was like calling next door,” he said.

Military experts say the hotline is reminiscent of the private links between Moscow and Washington during the Cold War, when each leader had a direct method of contacting each other in the event of a potential nuclear strike.

DOOMSDAY DELAY: Kim Hopes for SUCCESSFUL Olympics in South Korea

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.02.18

In a rare gesture of friendship and international cooperation, North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un wished South Korea “success” in hosting the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympic Games; saying the competition goes “beyond all political division.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, the communist despot mentioned the games in his annual New Year’s Day address to the nation, adding that the hermit kingdom would soon dispatch a delegation to Seoul to coordinate sending North Korean athletes to compete in the international competition.

“The Winter Olympic Games that will be held soon in the South will be a good opportunity to display the status of the Korean nation and we sincerely wish that the event will be held with good results,” said Kim.

“We know about the political tensions on the Korean Peninsula,” added International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach. “The Olympic Games are about dialogue. They are a symbol of hope and peace.”

Tensions between the United States and North Korea are at an all-time high as Kim Jong Un continues to defy the international community and advance his weapons and missile programs.

Earlier this year, the communist nation was hit with crippling sanctions by the United Nations after North Korea launched an international ballistic missile capable of striking every major American city.

END OF AN ERA: North and South Korea to Announce OFFICIAL END of Korean War

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.17.18

North and South Korean officials are prepared to announce an official end to the decades long Korean War this week; ending a military conflict between the two nations that have technically been at war since 1950.

According to CNBC, North and South Korean authorities are in talks to end hostilities ahead of next week’s historic meeting between communist dictator Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Lawmakers from the two countries are huddling in high-level talks to formalize a joint announcement officially ending the nearly 70-year conflict; discussing specific language that would end the “truce” that stopped the armed conflict and forge a lasting “peace treaty.”

“Pyongyang and Seoul have technically been at war since the 1950-1953 Korean conflict ended with a truce — and not a peace treaty. Geopolitical tensions have occasionally flared up since the armistice, although to date both countries have managed to avoid another devastating conflict,” writes CNBC.

The summit between Kim and Moon Jae-in will set the stage for the North Korean dictator’s meeting with President Trump next month; the first time the leaders of North Korea and the United States will meet face-to-face.
