SCHUMER FIRES BACK: Chuck Denies REJECTING Trump Nominee Because ‘HE’S WHITE’

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.02.18

House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer flat-out denied he voted against a judicial nominee because of his skin color Friday, saying the allegations he rejected the candidate because “he was white” was a “right-wing” distortion of the truth.

Schumer was speaking with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer when the anchor pressed the Senator over the recent scandal, saying “You were one of the 29 who voted against him. Apparently because he’s white. I want you to explain what you meant by that because it sounded unusual to put it mildly.”

“That was right-wing radio who never really tells the truth distorting what I had said. What I said was this: Barack Obama had nominated two people for this seat and our Republican Senators from South Carolina blocked them,” Chuck fired-back.

“The two people nominated were African-Americans and I said this new fellow is white, and we need the bench to have real diversity […] I think the bench should look like America. Most Americans agree with that,” he added, apparently confirming he did -in fact- vote down the nominee because of his skin color.

GOWDY UNCHAINED: Trey Gowdy TRASHES Schumer over ‘Skin Color’ Comments

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.01.18

GOP Rep. Trey Gowdy utterly unloaded on Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday; calling out the Democrat’s recent speech where he publicly stated he opposed Trump’s judicial nominee because of his skin color.

Schumer found himself in hot-water this week after he said he would “vote no” on a Trump nominee because he was a white male replacing two “scuttled” African-American candidates; adding that the courts should represent the racial diversity of the “America it represents.”

“I hate to interrupt Senator Schumer with facts. But one nominee was withdrawn because of a significant bond issue, while the other became the Chief Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court,” tweeted Gowdy.

“In addition, Senator Schumer did not oppose a recent white nominee in South Carolina also nominated by President Trump,” he added. “Marvin Quattlebaum is uniquely well qualified for the bench and universally respected by all in South Carolina. Hopefully Senator Schumer can find a way to look at really unusual factors (like qualifications) in the future.”

SCHUMER SHOCKER: Chuck Says He’ll VOTE NO on Trump Nominee Because of Skin Color

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.28.18

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced his opposition to President Trump’s nominee for a US District Court Judge in South Carolina this week, saying he’s “voting no” because the candidate is a “white” male replacing two of former President Obama’s “African-American nominees.”

Schumer was speaking on the Senate floor when he announced his stunning decision; slamming the Commander-in-Chief’s “lack of diversity” in his judicial nominees and saying the courts should start to “look like the America it represents.”

“The nomination of Marvin Quattlebaum speaks to the overall lack of diversity in President Trump’s selections for the federal judiciary,” Schumer complained. “Quattlebaum replaces not one, but two scuttled Obama nominees who were African American.”

“As of February 14th, 83 percent of the President Trump’s confirmed nominees were male, 92 percent were white. That represents the lowest share of non-white candidates in three decades,” he continued. “I’ll be voting no on the Quattlebaum nomination.”
