Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer slammed the Supreme Court’s decision regarding voter registration Monday; saying the ruling advances the Trump administration’s agenda of “disenfranchising” Americans across the country.
In a 5-4 decision, the court sided with Ohio’s practice of removing voters from the registration rolls after a certain period of inactivity; supporting the so-called “Use it or Lose it” rule.
“The ongoing push to disenfranchise American voters, led by the Trump administration and its allies at the state and local level, received a big boost from the #SCOTUS today. This is why elections matter,” tweeted Schumer.

“The right to vote is the most sacred right we have as citizens. Aggressive voter purge systems like Ohio’s essentially make voting a ‘use it or lose it’ privilege,” wrote Schumer.
“Democracy suffers when laws make it harder for U.S. Citizens to vote. This decision is dangerous and damaging and is NOT why we passed the National Voter Registration Act in ‘93. In fact, this goes completely against the spirit of the law,” he added.
SCHUMER MELTDOWN: Chuck Compares MS-13 Members to 'Our Great Grandparents'
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer railed against President Trump’s harsh rhetoric towards violent street gang MS-13 Wednesday; taking the President’s comments out of context and equating violent offenders to “our great grandparents.”
The President was responding to a California lawmaker’s complaint that local officials were unable to notify ICE officials of MS-13 gang members detained in county jails; saying federal authorities were working to bypass the “ridiculous” sanctuary city policies and deport “animal” criminals from the United States.
Here is the full clip of Trump's "animals" comments.
The CA Sheriff was lamenting not being able to report violent MS-13 gang members in her jail. Trump then called those gang members "animals."

Schumer slammed the President’s harsh rhetoric on social media within hours, saying “When all of our great-great-grandparents came to America they weren’t ‘animals,’ and these people aren’t either.”

SCHUMER MELTDOWN: Chuck GOES NUCLEAR, Says Trump ‘WORST MAN’ to Hold Office
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer went nuclear on President Trump over the weekend, saying Donald Trump was the “most dangerous and worst man” in American history to ever occupy the Oval Office.
Schumer was speaking at a Human Rights Campaign event Saturday when he viciously attacked the President, claiming a person “far worse than Lyndon Johnson” currently occupies the White House; likely referencing Johnson’s decision to not seek re-election over high disapproval numbers and the never-ending war in Vietnam.
“We are dealing with probably the most dangerous and worst man in the presidency we have ever had in the history of this nation, but we are going to win the fight,” Schumer said.
“If we can take back the Senate, that means that I will have the sole power to determine what goes on the floor of the Senate,” he added. “It means we’ll be able stop Donald Trump from putting all his junk on the floor and stop the anti-LGBT cascade of things that come into the United States Senate.”
