Sessions asks FBI agents for info on Uranium One deal

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.22.17

On the orders of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Justice Department prosecutors have begun asking FBI agents to explain the evidence they found in a now dormant criminal investigation into a controversial uranium deal that critics have linked to Bill and Hillary Clinton, multiple law enforcement officials told NBC News.

The interviews with FBI agents are part of the Justice Department’s effort to fulfill a promise an assistant attorney general made to Congress last month to examine whether a special counsel was warranted to look into what has become known as the Uranium One deal, a senior Justice Department official said.

At issue is a 2010 transaction in which the Obama Administration allowed the sale of U.S. uranium mining facilities to Russia’s state atomic energy company. Hillary Clinton was secretary of state at the time, and the State Department was one of nine agencies that agreed to approve the deal after finding no threat to U.S. national security.

URANIUM DONE: Top US Official Admits Obama Admin NOT TRUTHFUL On Shady Deal

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.13.17

The chair of the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission stunned Congressional investigators on Wednesday, admitting her predecessor inside the Obama administration was less-than-truthful about the shady Uranium One deal; adding they didn’t “fully depict the complexities” of the agreement.

“I would note that, as your letter makes clear, the responses you have received have not fully depicted the complexity of this issue,” NRC chairwoman Kristine Svinicki told a Senate hearing.

Wyoming Senator John Barasso had raised his concerns over the nuclear agreement as far back as 2010, telling then-President Obama he believed the deal could significantly expand Russian influence into the US nuclear industry.

“I specifically raised concerns about future exports of U.S. uranium by Uranium One,” Barrasso said during the hearing. “I believe the Obama administration’s response to my letter was at best misleading.”

The Clinton-Obama brokered agreement was thrust back into the national spotlight in October, when the Hill published an explosive report that showed the FBI had uncovered Russian bribery schemes surrounding the deal prior to its approval.
