SHE’S BACK: Broward County’s Brenda Snipes RESCINDS Resignation, Vows to Keep Position

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.03.18

Embattled Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes abruptly rescinded her official resignation over the weekend; vowing to stay in her position after a fierce backlash surrounding the 2018 midterm elections.

“The embattled Broward County Supervisor of Elections rescinded her resignation Saturday, a day after Gov. Rick Scott suspended her without pay,” writes the NY Daily News.

“After a series of inexcusable actions, it’s clear that there needs to be an immediate change in Broward County and taxpayers should no longer be burdened by paying a salary for a Supervisor of Elections who has already announced resignation,” said the governor and incoming Senator.

“We believe these actions are malicious, we believe that the allegations that are set forth in the governor’s executive order are done for the purposes of embarrassing Dr. Snipes – embarrassing her and tarnishing her record — and we will be fighting this,” said a statement from Snipe’s legal team.

“In addition to that, Dr. Snipes hereby rescinds her resignation that was set forth which would have been effective on the fourth of January,” adds her attorney.

FLORIDA FALLOUT: Broward County’s Brenda Snipes RESIGNS As Election Supervisor

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.19.18

Broward County Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes confirmed her plan to resign from office this week; turning in a letter of resignation Sunday evening after the conclusion of the ill-fated and problem-plagued Florida recount.

“Brenda C. Snipes, the elections supervisor of Broward County, Fla., turned in a letter of resignation on Sunday, hours after the conclusion of a vote recount that exposed a series of failures in her office, including a poorly designed ballot that may have contributed to a weak showing by the defeated Senate incumbent, Bill Nelson,” writes the New York Times.

“It has been my passion and honor to serve as the Supervisor of Elections for Broward County voters,” she wrote in the letter. “Although I have enjoyed this work tremendously over these many election cycles, both large and small, I am ready to pass the torch.”

Snipes found herself embroiled in political turmoil after her county failed to comply with Florida law and missed an extended deadline; effectively nullifying the recount and reverting the tally to the original Election Day results.

BROWARD BREAKDOWN: Rick Scott Files ‘EMERGENCY MOTION’ to Prevent Voter Fraud

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.12.18

Sitting Florida Governor and Senate candidate Rick Scott filed an “emergency motion” over the weekend; demanding local officials and law enforcement crackdown on potential “voter fraud” during the ongoing recount of last week’s midterm elections.

Scott announced the move on social media Sunday, writing “We’ve filed emergency motions and complaints in Broward and Palm Beach counties to ensure that we continue to do everything possible to prevent fraud and ensure this recount is operated responsibly.”

“Following the continued antics, failures and willful disregard of the law by Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes and Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher, the Scott for Florida team has filed emergency motions and complaints to protect the security of ballots and the ongoing recount process,” adds a statement from Scott’s campaign.
