A stunning new poll from Rasmussen shows that nearly half of American voters support a “universal jobs program” similar to a scheme unveiled by Sen. Bernie Sanders earlier this month.
According to the survey, 46% of likely voters are in favor of a guaranteed jobs program for every American; a controversial idea supported by Senators Sanders, Booker, and Gillibrand.
Bernie’s proposal would provide a full-time job from the federal government for “anyone who wants one” and would be accompanied by a complete benefits package including healthcare, paid vacation, and maternity leave.
The left-leaning Huffington Post conducted their own survey of the universal jobs program and found similar results, with 47% of those asked “somewhat” or “strongly” in favor of the largest jobs program since the Great Depression.
“The survey of 1,000 Likely U.S. Voters was conducted on April 24-25, 2018 by Rasmussen Reports,” adds the website.
