4:05 PM ET – Roger Stone, former Trump campaign advisor has been a long time friend of the President, and has fallen under the investigative eyes of the liberal drum. There have been countless articles and interviews about Mr. Stone, and those only magnified when Stone remembered a Russian acquaintance. He released a statement on the matter, part of which is below, and he stops by today to discuss the matter with Sean:
My critics have flipped because I only recently recalled a contact in 2016 who was both a Russian and an FBI informant. The man was only in the country on a visa requested by the Miami office of the FBI saying his presence in the country served a “public benefit”. This FBI informant who called himself Henry Greenberg is actually Gennady Vasilievich Vostretsov, a convicted violent felon who spent 10 years in prison and has been an FBI informant for 17 years.
I knew none of this when my longtime colleague Michael Caputo asked me to meet with this gentleman because he claimed he had information that would be “beneficial” to the Trump campaign. Thus the claim by Shelby Holliday of The Wall Street Journal that the meeting was based on a promise of “dirt” on Hillary Clinton is a typical fake news lie.
Since my 20-minute meeting with the FBI informant resulted in no inappropriate or illegal act, I have no reason to dissemble or hide the meeting since nothing improper or significant resulted from it. Even the FBI informant himself confirmed for The Washington Post that I rejected his demand for $2 million.
I now realize the FBI informant’s demand for “Trump’s money” in a $2 million payment for undisclosed damaging information on Hillary Clinton, which he only claimed to have at the meeting, was an attempt to compromise Trump himself. Knowing I have an almost 40-year relationship with the President, Comey’s FBI thought I could get Trump to pony up thus compromising him. That is why they sent the informant.
5:05 PM ET – RNC Spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany, author of The New American Revolution: The Making of a Populist Movement and Jeffrey Lord, Former associate political director in the Reagan administration and columnist are both survivors of the fake news network, CNN. They can’t help but shake their heads at the feigned moral outrage over the DACA ‘kids’ and President Trump’s efforts to resolve some part of the immigration problem. A problem which has been kick the can down the road issue for each president. The selective memory of the left when it comes time for elections is a true disservice to the American people. There is no mention of the children who have been stuck in immigration detention waiting centers because their parents decided to send them across Mexico alone. No mention of the 22 times President Obama said he had no authority over amnesty. Where were Rachel Maddow’s tears then? Seems like these pundits and officials only care to make immigration an issue when it may possibly garner them votes and favor. Once the midterm elections have come and gone, you will see all of this outrage dissipate.
In just over a week’s time, the big three networks have devoted an unbelievable amount of time trying to take down the Trump Administration over its zero-tolerance immigration policy. We updated you last night with the whopping 258 minutes of coverage ABC, NBC and CBS spent in just seven days of morning and evening broadcasts, but today that number spiked yet again. Today’s morning shows spent over an hour on this topic alone (61 minutes) to a grand total of 319 minutes since June 13. (H/T MRC)
