54 DAYS UNTIL THE MIDTERM ELECTIONS 11/6/2018

3:30 PM ET – Joe Bastardi of WeatherBell.com is here to talk about Hurricane Florence.

4:00 PM ET – John McLaughlin, Pollster and founder of McLaughlin and Associates & Doug Schoen, Pollster, Author, Political Analyst for Fox News and a Columnist for Newsmax, review the numbers on the midterm elections as we draw closer to election day; less than 2 months away. From the Financial Times:

For Americans, midterm elections are a chore that lacks the pizzazz of a presidential race. Polls show most of them disapprove of Congress, so why even bother? Plus the US makes voting hard. During the last midterms, in 2014, some voting precincts felt like ghost towns, with apathetic but dutiful citizens slowly dribbling in over the day. Participation sunk to a 72-year low of just 36 percent of the eligible population. When a charmer isn’t on the ballot, Democratic enthusiasm wanes. There’s an adage: Republicans fall in line; Democrats fall in love. Democratic voters are particularly lackadaisical about midterm elections compared with Republicans, who routinely vote in them at higher rates. Democratic party leaders shake with frustration about the gap. Why won’t their voters go to the polls? The answer, of course, is not simple.

4:30 PM ET – Lt. Governor Dan Forest of North Carolina is here to discuss the importance of being safe and getting out of harm’s way. From Business Insider:

The outer bands of Hurricane Florence, now a Category 2 storm with winds of up to 105 mph, have started to hit the North Carolina coast. Tropical storm-force winds are expected to arrive later today.
The National Hurricane Center warned of “life-threatening storm surge and rainfall” in the Carolinas and mid-Atlantic states.
Hurricane and storm surge warnings are in effect from the Santee River in South Carolina to Duck, North Carolina.
Over 5 million people are under hurricane warnings as of Thursday morning.

5:00 PM ET – Jonathan Gilliam, author of Sheep No More, and Danielle McLaughlin, an Attorney & Constitutional Expert who co-wrote The Federalist Society: How Conservatives took the Law Back from Liberals, debate the news of the day from Ruth Bader Ginsburg on confirmation hearings and politics today to the comments by President Trump about Hurricane Florence.

5:30 PM ET – Joe Concha, of the Hill breaks down the media breakdown on all issues from the attacks on the President, Cory Booker’s Spartacus moment, and the misappropriation of credit to former President Obama. And of course, the latest in liberal lunacy, President Trump is partly to blame for Hurricane Florence:

CNN’s “New Day” on Thursday explored the possibility that President Trump is “complicit” for Hurricane Florence as the historic storm bears down on the Carolina coast, with co-anchor John Avlon arguing his environmental policies “have been tearing down our defenses to climate change.”

“Is President Trump complicit in this storm?” asked co-anchor Alisyn Camerota in introducing the segment while citing a Wednesday Washington Post editorial pointing the finger at the president for being complicit for “extreme weather” due to Environmental Protection Agency policies and downplaying climate change.
