3:30PM ET – House Majority Whip Steve Scalise stops by the show to talk about the President’s speech tonight. The majority whip came back to the Capitol just the week after another surgery following the shooting last year at a Congressional baseball game.

House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) returned to the Capitol on Monday for the first time since he underwent surgery earlier this month as part of his recovery from being shot over the summer.

Scalise arrived to cast an expected vote later in the afternoon to reopen the government after a three-day shutdown.

He underwent surgery Jan. 10 at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where he has received treatment since he was shot in the hip in June. Scalise was released from the hospital Monday.

“I had a major surgery 12 days ago, and it was very successful, but it took a long recovery. But I’m feeling great,” Scalise told reporters.

4:05PM ET – Newt Gingrich, Former Speaker of the House and a Fox News Contributor has seen many State of the Union addresses and is very much looking forward to seeing Donald Trump give him this year. Particularly considering his accomplishments, and the desire of the left to see him crash and burn, even their own 401k’s are improving with every loathsome remark.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich doubled down on his faith in President Donald Trump and mocked Hillary Clinton for appearing in a comedy sketch at the Grammy Awards.

“[Trump’s] not going to give up putting America first. He’s not going to give up fighting for small business, fighting for deregulation, fighting for lower taxes. But I think he has learned over the last year,” Gingrich said Monday on “Fox & Friends.” “He’s had a year now to be president. He’s clearly learned a lot of lessons. There’s no reason for him to know coming into office, the differences between a billionaire in business and being the president of the United States.”

4:30PM ET- Freedom Caucus Members Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida and Congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas have been loud voices in the fight to get the memo released. They have been outraged at members of the House and Senate that wanted to keep the elements of this memo a secret. The dirty dealings of members of the state agencies are now exposed and it’s because of the pressure of the American people, and representatives like Matt these who cared enough to fight to get the truth out to the public.

House Speaker Paul Ryan called Tuesday to “cleanse” the FBI as he openly backed the release of a controversial memo that purportedly details alleged surveillance abuses by the U.S. government.

“Let it all out, get it all out there. Cleanse the organization,” Ryan, R-Wis., said.

‘Let it all out, get it all out there. Cleanse the organization.’

He added, “I think we should disclose all this stuff. It’s the best disinfectant. Accountability, transparency — for the sake of the reputation of our institutions.”

The striking remarks came at a breakfast with anchors and reporters ahead of President Trump’s State of the Union address; much of the session was off the record. (h/t Fox News)

5:05PM ET – Gregg Jarret, Fox News Legal Analyst and Sara Carter, Investigative Reporter and Fox News Contributor, are here to help break down what exactly happens next for the FBI. How should the DOJ proceed and what does McCabe mean when he says that he will ‘torch the FBI?’ How many more agents are complicit in nefarious activities?

A source confirmed to Fox News that McCabe is taking “terminal leave” – effectively taking a vacation until he reaches his planned retirement in a matter of weeks. As such, he will not be reporting to work at the FBI anymore.

The move was first reported by NBC News.

McCabe has long been a controversial figure at the bureau.

Republicans have questioned McCabe’s ties to the Democratic Party, considering his wife ran as a Democrat for a Virginia Senate seat in 2015 and got financial help from a group tied to Clinton family ally Terry McAuliffe. (h/t Fox News)
