THE CRISIS CONTINUES: Norway to Give Away ‘FREE HEROIN’ to 'Help' Drug Addicts

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.10.18

Norway unveiled its new approach to tackle the country’s escalating heroin crisis Friday; announcing the government’s plan to give away free narcotics to those struggling with addiction

According to Yahoo News, the Norwegian Directorate for Health and Social Affairs proposed the experimental program during high-level meetings this week, saying patients will benefit by no longer being forced to pay for illegal drugs.

“We hope that this will provide a solution that will give… a better quality of life to some addicts who are today out of our reach and whom current programmes do not help enough,” said the Health Minister.

“Norway has one of the highest overdose mortality rates in Europe, with 81 deaths per million in 2015 after Estonia (132 deaths per million) and Sweden (88 deaths per million), according to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction,” writes Yahoo.

'NOT SUSTAINABLE': Canada Scraps Failed ‘Universal Income’ Project

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.01.18

The Ontario government decided to ditch its universal income project this week, with Ministers saying the expensive pilot program was “clearly not the answer” for the nation’s working families and those below the poverty line.

Children, Community, and Social Services Minister Lisa MacLeod announced the province’s decision Tuesday, saying her government would release “more details at a later date” but confirmed the program would cease immediately.

“The pilot project started in April 2017. It was originally set to last three years, and explore the effectiveness of providing a basic income to those living on low incomes — whether they were working or not,” writes the CBC.

Under the program’s current guidelines, a single person would receive a maximum of $17,000 (Canadian) per year and a married couple would receive $24,000 (Canadian).

There are approximately 4,000 people enrolled in the program.

BERNIE’S ADMISSION: Sanders Says Universal Healthcare Will Cause ‘Pain,’ But is Worth It

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.08.18

Bernie Sanders publicly admitted Thursday that implementing a single-payer, government guaranteed healthcare system will likely cost people their jobs and will cause “pain,” but is ultimately worth it.

Sanders was speaking with CNN this week when he was pressed on his support for a government-run healthcare system, saying the US needs to “transition” the nation’s insurance programs towards a single-payer program.

“You have people hounding doctors about what kind of medicine they should be able to use. So forth and so on. Will those people lose their jobs when we have healthcare-for-all guaranteed through a single payer system? The answer is, yes,” said the Vermont senator.

“We’ll create more jobs under a rational Medicare-for-all system than currently exists. There will be a transition just in the same way as we have to transform our energy system away from fossil fuel. We create more jobs, but there will be pain and you got to deal with that pain,” he added.

Sanders’ comments come just hours after House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi hinted the Democrats may pursue a ‘Medicare for All’ system should her party retake control of Congress this fall.
