The Supreme Leader of Iran urged all Muslim-majority countries to forge a lasting alliance against the United States Thursday; adding the Islamic Republic will resist all “arrogant powers” as the US prepares to withdraw from its “disastrous” nuclear agreement.
According to Yahoo News, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was speaking with Iranian state-run news when he slammed the US and its allies for “bullying” Muslim countries around the world; adding Iran had successfully “resisted” American aggression for years.
“The Iranian nation has successfully resisted bullying attempts by America and other arrogant powers and we will continue to resist… All Muslim nations should stand united against America and other enemies,” said the Supreme Leader.
“Such remarks are humiliation for Muslims … Unfortunately there is war in our region between Muslim countries. The backward governments of some Muslim countries are fighting with other countries,” he added.
Khamenei’s comments come just a day after French President Emmanuel Macron and President Trump announced they would pursue a “new deal” with Iran on their nuclear program.
IRAN ON EDGE: Macron, Trump Demand NEW DEAL on Iran’s Nukes
French President Emmanuel Macron and President Donald Trump called for a “new deal” on Iran’s nuclear weapons program Tuesday; sending a clear message to Tehran that France and the United States are serious in forging a new agreement with the Islamic Republic.
The two leaders spoke with reporters following a joint press conference at the White House, with Macron confirming that his government is willing to renegotiate the nuclear agreement alongside the Trump administration.
“I can say that we have had very frank discussions on that, just the two of us,” said Macron. “We, therefore, wish from now on to work on a new deal with Iran.”
“I think we will have a great shot at doing a much bigger, maybe, deal,” said Trump.
The remarks come just one day after Iran’s foreign minister claimed there was no “Plan B” should the United States decide to withdraw from the agreement.

IRAN ON EDGE: Supreme Leader LASHES OUT at ‘Enemies’ as Iran Crumbles
Iran’s Supreme Leader lashed-out at “enemies” of the Islamic Republic on Tuesday; accusing outside forces of “meddling” in Iranian politics as protests sweep the nation and the death toll rises to at least 20, reports Fox News.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei blasted the “enemies of Iran” on his official website this week, following a weekend of deadly demonstrations throughout the country; the greatest show of defiance against the Iranian regime since the “Twitter Revolution” of 2009.
“Hundreds of people have been arrested and a prominent judge on Tuesday warned that some could face death penalty trials,” writes Fox. “In comments posted to his official website, Khamenei appeared to blame foreign nations for at least exacerbating the unrest gripping Iran.”
“In the recent days’ incidents, enemies of Iran utilized various means — including money, weapons, politics and intelligence apparatuses — to create problems for the Islamic system,” said Khamenei.
On New Year’s Day, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended his support to the Iranian protesters, wishing them “success in their noble quest for freedom.”
