THE SUMMIT: Trump and Kim IN SINGAPORE, to Meet Within Hours

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.11.18

President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un touched down in Singapore with their respective teams over the weekend; setting the stage for the first meeting between the two nations’ leaders in history.

Kim Jong Un arrived in the city-state via a Chinese chartered aircraft that included two “dummy” planes acting as a potential decoy for attacks, with Trump landing in Singapore aboard Air Force One.

“Kim who is known as a reasonable leader may have accepted his advisers’ recommendations to prioritize safety in aviation,” said a professor at Seoul’s University of North Korean Studies.

“In addition, the charter of a Chinese airplane may have an effect of publicizing China’s active support and cooperation to the North Korean people ahead of summit talks with the U.S,” added the expert.

Trump and Kim’s arrival in Singapore clears the final hurdles after months of back-and-forth negotiations, with the leaders expected to meet at 9am local time.

END OF AN ERA: North and South Korea to Announce OFFICIAL END of Korean War

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.17.18

North and South Korean officials are prepared to announce an official end to the decades long Korean War this week; ending a military conflict between the two nations that have technically been at war since 1950.

According to CNBC, North and South Korean authorities are in talks to end hostilities ahead of next week’s historic meeting between communist dictator Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

Lawmakers from the two countries are huddling in high-level talks to formalize a joint announcement officially ending the nearly 70-year conflict; discussing specific language that would end the “truce” that stopped the armed conflict and forge a lasting “peace treaty.”

“Pyongyang and Seoul have technically been at war since the 1950-1953 Korean conflict ended with a truce — and not a peace treaty. Geopolitical tensions have occasionally flared up since the armistice, although to date both countries have managed to avoid another devastating conflict,” writes CNBC.

The summit between Kim and Moon Jae-in will set the stage for the North Korean dictator’s meeting with President Trump next month; the first time the leaders of North Korea and the United States will meet face-to-face.

FACE TO FACE: Trump SHOCKS the World, Announces Meeting with KIM JONG UN

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.09.18

President Trump shocked the world Thursday evening; announcing a surprise summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un after the brutal despot pledged to halt his weapons program and meet with an American delegation to discuss full denuclearization.

The surprise announcement came after days of high-level meetings between North and South Korean officials, and a firm pledge from Kim to “freeze” his weapons programs ahead of potential talks with US officials.

“President Trump appreciated the briefing and said he would meet Kim Jong-un by May to achieve permanent denuclearization,” said South Korea’s National Security Advisor, adding North Korea will “refrain from any further nuclear or missile tests.”

The President hailed the meeting on social media shortly after the announcement, saying “great progress being made” and “meeting being planned!”

“Kim Jong Un talked about denuclearization with the South Korean Representatives, not just a freeze. Also, no missile testing by North Korea during this period of time. Great progress being made but sanctions will remain until an agreement is reached. Meeting being planned!” he tweeted.

Should the summit take place, it would be the first time the leaders of North Korea and the United States meet face to face.
