Here’s What We Know About the Port Authority Bomber

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.11.17

A would-be suicide bomber tried to create death and destruction during one of the nation’s busiest rush hours Monday morning; attempting to detonate a concealed explosive strapped to his midsection as commuters and tourists poured into New York City.

The 27-year old Brooklyn resident, identified by the New York Post as Akayed Ullah, possessed a five-inch pipe bomb attached to a hidden battery as he walked through the main entrance to New York City’s subway system at the packed bus terminal.

“This is New York, the reality is that we are a target by many who would like to make a statement against democracy, against freedom,” said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Ullah’s device partially detonated, seriously injuring himself and three other individuals.

The NYPD immediately took the man into custody, who they believe was born in Bangladesh and was acting on behalf of the Islamic State. He remains in custody at Bellevue Hospital where he’s being treated for his injuries.

“I had like a panic attack, I couldn’t breathe. My stomach started hurting,” one witness told the Post. “I’m doing better — I’m just trying to catch a train to go back home to College Point.”

The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is on the scene.

Botched Explosion in Times Square Causes Chaos; Suspect in Custody

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.11.17

One person was in custody after an explosion near New York City’s Port Authority bus terminal during Monday morning’s rush hour — a blast that prompted mass chaos and halted multiple subway lines, the NYPD said.

The suspect has injuries that are not life-threatening, The Associated Press reported. Three other people suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, officials said.

The suspected bomber was a 27-year-old ISIS-inspired Bangladeshi national who lived in Brooklyn, law enforcement sources told The New York Post. The suspect allegedly packed the five-inch metal pipe bomb and battery pack into the right side of his jacket, but the device exploded prematurely. The suspect told police he made the bomb at the electrical company he works at, The New York Post reported.

IT WAS ISIS: Terrorist Declared Allegiance to ISIS Before NYC Massacre

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.03.17

The suspect behind Tuesday’s devastating truck-attack in lower Manhattan left behind a would-be suicide note in the cabin of the vehicle, declaring his allegiance to the Islamic State and writing, “ISIS Lives Forever.”

Eight people were killed and 11 were seriously injured when 29-year-old Uzbekistan native Sayfullo Saipov rammed his rented pick-up truck into pedestrians and bicyclists in New York City’s Tribeca neighborhood.

According to NBC News, Saipov left behind the ISIS-inspired writings in the hopes that he would be killed by law enforcement during the attack. After crashing into a school bus, the terrorist ran through the streets of lower Manhattan, screaming “Allahu Akbar” while holding a paint-ball gun and a BB pistol.

Saipov was shot in the abdomen and is recovering at a local hospital.

The NYPD and FBI believe the suspect is an Uber driver currently residing in New Jersey with his wife and three children.

“We are horrified by this senseless act of violence. Our hearts are with the victims and their families. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide our full assistance,” an Uber Spokesman said.
