Prominent Democrats and left-wing lawmakers are once-again distancing themselves from twice-failed presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton; saying the doomed nominee went too far when she claimed “white women” only voted for President Trump because their husbands forced them to.
The former Secretary of State was speaking at a conference in India when she made her outrageous remarks, saying American women were pressured by their “husbands, bosses, and sons” to vote for the Republican nominee.
“She put herself in a position where [Democrats] from states that Trump won will have to distance themselves from her even more,” said a former top Clinton staffer. “That’s a lot of states.”
“She’s annoying me. She’s annoying everyone, as far as I can tell,” said an anonymous Clinton insider. “Who lets her say these things?”
“If these statements are a form of catharsis, it would be in the Democratic Party’s best interest for her to get these out of her system soon,” added a senior Obama aide.
Her comments were even criticized by left-leaning daytime show ‘The View’ Tuesday morning, with the liberal hosts calling Clinton a “political virus” attached to the Democratic Party.
