posted by Hannity Staff - 5.17.18

President Trump warned North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un of a potential regime change Thursday should both nation’s fail to secure a deal on his nuclear weapons program; saying the ‘Libyan model’ would “likely take place” if peace talks fail.

The President was speaking with reporters at the White House when he was asked if he planned on using the ‘Libyan model’ to disarm North Korea; saying that’s not the current approach but could occur should negotiations collapse.

“The Libyan model isn’t a model that we have at all when we’re thinking of North Korea,” said the President.

“If you look at that model with Gaddafi; that was a total decimation. We went in there to beat him. Now, that model would take place if we don’t make a deal most likely. But if we make a deal, I think Kim Jong Un is going to be very, very happy,” he added.

North Korean officials directly rebuked South Korea’s offer to help “broker” the high-stakes summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un Thursday; slamming their southern neighbors as “ignorant and incompetent.”

According to the New York Post, the Chairman of North Korea’s Reunification Committee harshly rejected Seoul’s suggestion that South Korea help “mediate” the upcoming meeting between US and Korean officials.

“On this opportunity, the present south Korean authorities have been clearly proven to be an ignorant and incompetent group devoid of the elementary sense of the present situation,” said a written statement from Chairman Ri Son Gwon.

“Unless the serious situation which led to the suspension of the north-south high-level talks is settled, it will never be easy to sit face to face again with the present regime of south Korea,” it added.

North Korean officials suddenly cut-off communications with South Korea and threatened to withdraw from the upcoming summit earlier this week; accusing the United States of practicing “invasion” drills during a joint military exercise.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un attempted to smooth relations with South Korea and other nations in the region on Tuesday, telling world leaders that their nuclear arsenal was “only aimed” at the United States; re-confirming the communist nation’s intentions of furthering its advances missile program.

According to Fox News, Ri Son Gwon, the head of the hermit kingdom’s five-person delegation speaking with South Korea for the first time in over two years, told his counterparts that there were no nuclear weapons currently aimed at South Korea, only the United States’ mainland.

“North Korea’s weapons are only aimed at the United States, not our brethren, China or Russia,” Ri told South Korean officials. He specifically did not mention the staunch US ally of Japan.

The easing of tensions between North and South Korea comes just days after dictator Kim Jong Un wished his southern neighbors “great success” as they prepare to host the 2018 Winter Games. In response, delegations from both nations agreed to “ease military tensions” ahead of the international competition.

President Trump harshly criticized North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un on social media last week, warning the despot that he too had a “nuclear button,” but unlike Kim’s the United States nuclear arsenal “actually works.”
