WEST COAST CHAOS: Orange County REJECTS ‘TENT CITY,’ Sues California

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.28.18

Residents in Orange County, California have had enough of the state’s ‘Sanctuary City’ policies and soaring homelessness; voting this week to shut-down a proposed ‘tent-city’ near a public park and joining the Trump administration’s lawsuit against the Golden State.

The Orange County Supervisors voted Tuesday to officially reject California’s “unconstitutional” laws that prohibit law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officers; hours after the County Sheriff posted the release date of illegal immigrant inmates online.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra slammed the county’s decision, suggesting his office may launch a legal battle of its own to enforce the ‘Sanctuary City’ guidelines.

“State law is state law. It’s my job to enforce state law and I will do so. We want to make sure that every jurisdiction, including Orange County, understands what state law requires of the people and the subdivisions of the state of California,” Becerra said.

The official’s comments come the same day as residents voted down a proposed homeless shelter near a major park, sparking outrage from locals and business owners.

“They’re just dumping these poor people in our neighborhoods and communities where there are like six schools and, you know, little children walking to school,” said one resident.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: LA Considers GIVING FREE HOUSES to City’s Homeless Population

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.23.18

The full-fledged chaos engulfing the state of California continued this week, with the Los Angeles City Council considering a motion that would provide free housing to the city’s estimated 60,000 person homeless population.

According to CBS Los Angeles, the motion was introduced last month and will be brought before the council Friday; declaring the city’s ballooning transient problem a public health emergency. The declaration would release additional funds to construct new homes and shelters for those on the city streets.

“The city has explored multiple options for dealing with its growing homeless population,” writes CBS. “In February, the council unanimously approved putting about 60 homeless people in trailers on a downtown lot.”

The portable shelters contain bathrooms, kitchens, at least one bedroom, and are expected to cost approximately $2 million.

The vote comes as nearby countries and cities reject the state’s “unconstitutional” ‘Sanctuary’ policies, with one town officially voting down the measure as homelessness and crime rates soar throughout the region.

CALIFORNIA CHAOS: Local Community FIGHTS BACK Against ‘Sanctuary’ TENT CITY

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.26.18

Local residents in southern California are fighting back against a two-mile long stretch of makeshift homeless shelters in Orange County; demanding officials crackdown on “human waste” and “used needles” that riddle the encampment, reports Fox News.

In stark contrast from local governments in Los Angeles and San Francisco, the Orange County authorities are beginning to clamp down on the tent city, describing the “illegal” housing as a major public health concern.

“It’s becoming part of the permanent landscape in those communities and there is no way we are going to allow Orange County land that is supposed to be used by residents to be occupied by the homeless,” said a member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors.

In response to public pressure, the county council cleared nearly 25 tons of trash, over 1,000 pounds of “human waste” and over 5,000 needles from the camp.

The ACLU and other human rights activists have denounced the move, filing a civil rights lawsuit to stop the county’s crackdown after the decision was officially approved by the council.

‘That isn’t going to happen in our county. It’s not going to be our skid row,” added the Orange County supervisor.
