WEST COAST REVOLT: Second City SUES CALIFORNIA Over ‘Sanctuary’ Laws

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.03.18

Huntington Beach, California became the second city in Orange County to officially sue the state over its “unconstitutional” and dangerous ‘Sanctuary City’ policies; joining the Trump administration’s all-out legal battle against west coast lawlessness.

According to CBS News, the seaside community’s City Council voted 6 to 1 to sue the Golden State over SB 54: The California Senate bill that severely limits local law enforcement’s ability to cooperate with federal officials regarding illegal immigration.

“More than 100 people were at the meeting to tell the council they wanted to join the Orange County lawsuit, just days after Los Alamitos became the first city in Orange County to leave their sanctuary city status behind,” writes CBS Los Angeles.

“I am very proud of the USA,” said California Congressman Dana Rohrabacher. “I would suggest that those who advocate for sanctuary states are betraying the American people.”

The tiny city of Los Alamitos was thrust into the national spotlight last month when it became the first municipality in California to outright reject the states ‘Sanctuary’ policies; joining the Trump administration’s legal battle to crackdown on illegal immigrants throughout the region.

WEST COAST CHAOS: Orange County REJECTS ‘TENT CITY,’ Sues California

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.28.18

Residents in Orange County, California have had enough of the state’s ‘Sanctuary City’ policies and soaring homelessness; voting this week to shut-down a proposed ‘tent-city’ near a public park and joining the Trump administration’s lawsuit against the Golden State.

The Orange County Supervisors voted Tuesday to officially reject California’s “unconstitutional” laws that prohibit law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration officers; hours after the County Sheriff posted the release date of illegal immigrant inmates online.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra slammed the county’s decision, suggesting his office may launch a legal battle of its own to enforce the ‘Sanctuary City’ guidelines.

“State law is state law. It’s my job to enforce state law and I will do so. We want to make sure that every jurisdiction, including Orange County, understands what state law requires of the people and the subdivisions of the state of California,” Becerra said.

The official’s comments come the same day as residents voted down a proposed homeless shelter near a major park, sparking outrage from locals and business owners.

“They’re just dumping these poor people in our neighborhoods and communities where there are like six schools and, you know, little children walking to school,” said one resident.

SANCTUARY STRUGGLE: Orange County to REBUKE California’s ‘Illegal’ Immigration Laws

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.27.18

Just days after the small southern California city of Los Alamitos voted to officially reject the state’s ‘Sanctuary City’ policies, other towns in Orange County are joining the movement; urging the county supervisors to strike down the Golden State’s “unconstitutional” immigration laws.

The Orange County Supervisors will hold public debates Tuesday; weighing whether the county should be the first in the state to take legal action against California’s guidelines that limit local law enforcement’s interaction with federal immigration agents.

“These state laws are preempted by federal law,” Orange County Supervisor Shawn Nelson said. “Our officers actually face penalties under state law if they so much as talk to federal agents for the wrong thing. That’s just unacceptable and it’s contrary to federal law.”

According to the Los Angeles Times, other cities are also considering a vote on the state’s immigration policies, including Yorba Linda, Buena Park, Huntington Beach, and Mission Viejo.

“We cannot allow this to happen in Orange County and we need to protect our families and our homes here in Orange County,” said another Orange County Supervisor. “And that means bolstering our cooperation with federal immigration enforcement and stopping our county from becoming a sanctuary for criminal illegal immigrants.”
